This image is from a textbook on Ornamental Design which was published in New York around 1900. It is a fantastic design, technically and beautifully.The book is very comprehensive and goes through the elements of design from technical drawing, geometric drawing, right through to the history of ornament and the influence of nature. I love finding old books that are full of information on subjects such as design and art. I also love that it is written for people who like to read; it's not for those who wish to gloss over and only look at the pictures! Although even if you only do, it's still fabulous...
